The Elf patented In-Wall cleaning system utilizes a pools existing “Active” main drain and skimmer which suction leaves, dirt, sand and debris to leaf baskets and on to the pool filtering and heating equipment. When the water is returned through the return lines the Elf systems turns that water into powerful jets of pre-filtered, sanitized water. ALL SWIMMING POOL CLEANING SYSTEMS UTILIZE AN ACTIVE MAIN DRAIN
To better understand this innovative cleaning system lets look at two pool cleaning options currently available today.

All swimming pools utilize an “Active” main drain and skimmer to collect leaves, dirt, sand and other debris to leaf baskets. Pool water is filtered then passes through the heater and returned to the pool. This system has been the standard in the swimming pool industry since 1950.

Although this standard system is inexpensive to install it is inefficient use of energy. It requires the pump to operate from 8 to 12 hours per day, as well as returning the water to the surface of the pool only which leaves a cold layer in the pool. This type of system has poor circulation which requires more chemical usage as well as being more difficult to keep clean and heat.

Although In-Floor cleaning systems are more efficient in heating and chemical dispersion, as well as cleaning steps and benches with an effective means of mixing up debris and dirt. The chemically treated water is dispersed to 4 single jets at a time (called a zone) which moves only a small area of pool water. Returns rotate 360? pushing sand and debris away from the active main drain and skimmer 50% of the time.

Additionally specialized plumbing diagrams are needed as well as hundreds of feet of additional pool plumbing required, 60% of this plumbing is under the pool shell. The time required to run all zones of the pool can be 8 to 12 hours, some systems require additional pumps to push the volume of water effectively. Not recommended to use pool when system is operating and repair and maintenance is required. A large investment is also required for installation.
